Award-Winning London Street Fashion Designer

Sarika Pancholi is a De Montfort University (DMU) London street fashion designer who's colorful creations including knitwear garments made from shoe laces were awarded the David Band Textiles Award At London's Graduate Fashion Week. Pancholi was one of three students to compete for the award at the Gala Showon June 8.

Pancholi's talents have also been spotted by high street fashion retailer River Island, who has offered her an internship as a knitwear assistant. Fashion designer Zandra Rhodes has also named Sarika as one of the top five British designers of the year. Sarika takes her design inspiration from her rich Indian culture and from traditional British knitwear techniques. She also enjoys incorporating everyday items into her garments, including shoelaces, straws, lolly-pop sticks and whistles. The 22 year old has gained recognition for the uniqueness of her work, and her mastery of textiles.
